Day 25: Roscommon, Longford, Dublin & Navan, Ireland
25 days already? Sheesh…
I woke up a bit later today (after saying goodbye to Declan before he left around 8!), made some toast and tea for breakfast and watched a bit of TV with Fintan before I started pakcing up all of my stuff.
Declan’s mom was gracious enough to wake up after her nap to bring me to a train for 2:15 and I was on my way to Dublin! From Dublin, I took another bus for about an hour to Navan and met up with the one and only Riona Gilroy!! It was so so good to see her J
We decided that we’d go to Wagamama just like the old times, and even though it was a Thursday, we declared it an honorary Wednesday in order to stick with our tradition of Wagamama Wednesdays! After dinner we spent a bit of time window shopping and checking out what films were on. Many of them didn’t start for some time, so instead of going to the cinema we just went back to Riona’s house.
It was great to see her mom/dad/sister again, and it felt like I had never left! Faye made a delicious dessert for everyone with berries, cream and merengues and we watched the end of the Ireland soccer match, which we unfortunately lost 4-0 to Spain L They’re essentially out of the running now, but the Irish fans who were there were fantastic and supported their team to the very last minute!
We lounged around for the rest of the night, giggling about old times, going through pictures and discovering the wonders of Pinterest (sorry for the new addiction, Riona!)
Favorite part of the day: Meeting up with Riona J We picked up right where we left off and I’m so happy to be spending time with her again!!
