Day 15: Ahiohill, Co. Clare, Ireland
It was great to wake up back in Clonakilty this morning! After
a quick breakfast of cereal and juice, Zoe and I got dressed and headed out to
strim the yard! We were to strim around the vegetable patches and make a path
of sorts through the overgrown grass around the house.
This took up most of the day, in addition to us weeding some
of the vegetable patches as well. It’s incredible how resilient weeds are! A
neverending task for sure.
Not much else happened for the rest of the day. We packed up
around 5:30 or so and headed inside. Tina made burgers and a cous cous salad
for dinner- definite reminder of summer and cookouts (even though they were
made on a griddle!).
Afterwards, John went into Cork for the session and Zoe,
Tina and I hung around the house for the night. We were doing some travel
planning, chatting, drinking tea and watching Angels and Demons on TV! A chill
night overall- but great to relax. I also just started reading a book that’s
based on Cape Clear (starring Ed- in a fictional sense).
Went to bed pretty early- relatively uneventful night. Sorry
for the lack of excitement/late post- the internet was being temperamental!
Favorite part of the day: Strimming nettles. Those little buggers have
stung me so often, it felt great to chop them all down as I was going through
the yard.
